Caring for your carpet

Tips for the best care of your carpet

ACCORDING TO THE MATERIAL

It is very important to know how to distinguish the material with which your carpet has been made since the treatment in one case or another will be different depending on the texture.

Here are some tips that, in our opinion, will make your carpets more durable, collaborating with better maintenance.

 Handmade rug by Kaymanta

WOOL

Wool rugs are extremely durable, making them well-suited for entryways, hallways, kitchens, and dining rooms.
Lanolin, a natural oil in wool, makes wool rugs more resistant to stains than other materials. Shedding is inherent to wool rugs and occurs mostly in the first 3-6 months. All of our wool rugs use long-staple wool, which is less prone to shedding than shorter staples.

ICARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• Rotate the rug every 3 months to prevent discoloration and uneven wear.
• Vacuum regularly in one direction (not back and forth) using suction only, no bristles. Regular vacuuming will reduce shedding over time
• Avoid pulling loose threads. If necessary, trim them so they are even with the stack.
• Spot clean as needed with a damp (not wet) cloth under running water; do not use soap or cleaning products as they may damage or discolor the rug.
• For larger, deeper stains, send carpet to a professional service experienced in cleaning fine carpets.

Duna design rug in Bamboo Silk by Kaymanta

BAMBOO SILK

Our 100% long bamboo fiber, plant-based viscose has a delicate beauty, high luster, and rich color and pattern. Viscose rugs are characterized by tonal variations that can be affected by the light in a room, as well as the angle from which the rug is viewed. It is to be expected that moody highlights and lowlights in the color of the carpet surface are inherent in the design. Viscose rugs should be placed in areas where there is less potential for staining, excess moisture, or excessive wear.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
• Turn the mat every 3 months to prevent discoloration and uneven wear.
• Vacuum as needed in one direction (not back and forth) using suction only, no bristles.
• No spot cleaning; never use liquids on viscose rugs. Avoid rubbing the stains, which makes them sit deeper.
• If cleaning is needed, send the carpet to a professional service experienced in cleaning fine carpets.
• To preserve the life of the carpet, we recommend using a carpet pad.

Carpet in Tencel by Kaymanta

TENCEL

Tencel ™ is made from wood pulp. It is known for its soft feel and relaxed sheen that evokes the qualities of silk. The fiber's affinity for dye makes it capable of holding deep, vibrant colors. Tencel™ rugs are characterized by tonal variations that can be affected by light in a room, as well as the angle from which the rug is viewed. It is to be hoped that the changing reflections and lowlights in the color of the rug's surface are inherent in the design.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

• Rotate the rug every 3 months to prevent discoloration and uneven wear.
• Vacuum as needed in one direction (not back and forth) using suction only, no bristles.
Avoid rubbing the stains, which makes them sit deeper.
• If cleaning is needed, send the carpet to a professional service experienced in cleaning fine carpets.
